WE KNOW THAT YOU KNOW the
Inaugural IBTF Nations Cup and World Championships
will be taking place in LIVERPOOL England in August 2023
BUT ………. DO YOU KNOW the meaning behind our logo

Our logo is based on the Liver Bird which is symbol of the City of Liverpool

The tradition of the Liver Bird dates back to 1229, when his Royal Highness King Henry III gave his permission for the people of Liverpool to be self-governing, through trade guilds. This necessitated the creation of a unique seal, which was used to authenticate documents. And, so this seal featured an image of a bird. Known as the LIVER BIRD

The famous ROYAL LIVER BUILDING is located at the Pier Head and graces the city’s waterfront. Opened in 1911, the building was the purpose-built home of the Royal Liver Assurance group which was setup in the city in 1850 to provide locals with assistance related to losing a wage-earning relative.

It is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the city of Liverpool with its two fabled LIVER BIRDS who watch over the city and sea. Legend has it that if these two birds were to fly away, then the city would cease to exist.
